Rajiv Malu is a visual artist and cinematographer based in Mumbai, India. His work focuses on capturing stories that celebrate culture, people, and the places he visits.
He began his journey as a documentary and travel photographer before graduating as a cinematographer from Whistling Woods International, Mumbai. Since 2019, he has worked on at least 10 long-form projects as an associate, contributing to shows such as Scoop, Modern Love: Baai, Mrs., Srikanth, and Gandhi (most recent). Alongside this, he has independently shot several advertisements, documentaries, short films, and music videos. Most recently, he shot a Gujarati feature film, set to release in theaters at the end of this year.
His work has been featured on Apple, National Geographic Your Shot, National Geographic Traveller India, India Today Magazine, and Chiiz Magazine. He was a finalist for the HIPA (Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award) 2017-18 and the Siena International Photo Awards 2017. His photographs have been exhibited by Wagon Art, VIBGYOR, LxS Org, Saatchi Gallery (London), Zostel Group of Hotels, and UP PhotoExpo.
Currently, he works as a full-time Director of Photography (DP), collaborating with directors like Pan Nalin, Pranav Bhasin, Ria Singh, and Abhishek Jain among others. His portfolio spans across long-form shows, advertisements, music videos, and documentary films.
